"He is back and ready to go," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online. " I don't want to promise anything. I want the freedom to pick the team I want to pick".

Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool captain, has appeared in court to deny assaulting a man during a nightclub brawl on Merseyside. He was arrested after a disturbance at a Lounge Bar nightclub on 29 December where the player was with some friends to celebrate Liverpool's 5-1 win over Newcastle United. The charges against him relate to an attack on Marcus McGee, 34-years old, who suffered facial injuries.
